Axpo acquires 25MW of Swedish storage
Axpo is to develop a 25 MW lithium-ion battery storage system - around 300 km west of the Swedish capital Stockholm, in the town of Filipstad - after acquiring the project from developer SENS (Sustainable Energy Solutions Sweden).
Construction of the plant is expected to commence in early 2024.
At the same location, Axpo is also developing a ground-mounted solar plant with a capacity of up to 20 MW. The two projects cover an area of more than 23 hectares (230,000 square metres).
Axpo and SENS will co-develop the two projects. The parties have agreed not to disclose commercial terms of the transaction.
