Banks Group submits UK storage application
In a move that Banks Group believes will put South Yorkshire at the forefront of the energy storage industry, the developer has submitted a planning application to Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council for what it claims is the largest battery energy storage system currently being planned in the UK. The Thorpe Marsh Green Energy Hub, which is on the site of the former Thorpe Marsh power station, could store up to 2.8GWh of energy, which is enough to supply around 340,000 households with electricity for one day.
