Denmark reveals up-to-14GW tender plan
The Danish Energy Agency has revealed plans to tender for up to 14GW of offshore wind capacity, including the Bornholm Energy Island project.
The Danish government has agreed a framework for at least 6.2GW of capacity split between the North Sea I (3GW), Hesselø (1.2GW), Kattegat II (1GW) and Kriegers Flak II (1GW) zones; and the Bornholm Energy Island (3GW) scheme. This would add up to 9.2GW.
However, the DEA added that the framework gave the option for developers to propose more capacity in those zones, which means the tenders could result in 14GW of new offshore wind capacity.
