European Energy picks Stiesdal electrolyser

European Energy has picked Danish technology firm Stiesdal Hydrogen to supply a 3GW electrolyser for the Maade hydrogen production facility in Esbjerg, Denmark.

Stiesdal Hydrogen's electrolyser is based on conventional alkaline electrolysis, with modular support systems for water treatment, power supply and cooling. It is set to produce around 270 tonnes of green hydrogen a year when fully operational.

Construction on the Maade power-to-X facility started in late 2022 and operations are due to start later this year.
