
France shortlists big-hitters for 2.5GW tenders
The French Government has shortlisted offshore wind big-hitters including Eni Plenitude, Iberdrola and Ocean Winds to bid in two upcoming tenders totalling 2.5GW.
Agnès Pannier-Runacher, France's minister for energy transition, yesterday announced the firms that would participate in the 1GW Ile d'Oléron (AO7) and 1.5GW Normandy (AO8) tenders, where winners are due to be picked in early 2024.

The French Government has also published the specifications for a 250MW floating wind tender for a site off the coast of Brittany, which is due to be allocated by the end of 2023. In addition, it confirmed a consortium of EDF Renewables and Maple Power as winner of the 1GW Centre Manche 1 tender, which we reported yesterday.
