Sembcorp and Siemens Gamesa in Indian arbitration

The Indian subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries has launched arbitration proceedings against Siemens Gamesa over a dispute at a 300MW onshore wind project.

Green Infra Wind Energy launched the $98.8m arbitration claim after alleging that Siemens Gamesa defaulted on parts of a contract to supply, build and commission 143 turbines for a large project in India, as well as associated transmission facilities.

Siemens Gamesa said Green Infra's claims lack merit and has filed a counter-claim for $237m.
