SouthCoast seeks to cancel 1.2GW PPA

US offshore wind company SouthCoast Wind is seeking to cancel the power purchase agreement for its 1.2GW SouthCoast offshore wind project in US waters.

The company, which is a joint venture between Ocean Winds and Shell, said it was looking to cancel the deal due to the impacts of inflation and other rising costs, which were affecting the financial viability of the project. It is looking to enter the project in the next offshore wind leasing round in Massachusetts.
