TotalEnergies secures green hydrogen supply deal with VNG and Uniper for the Leuna oil refinery, aiming to reduce emissions by 80,000 tonnes by 2030.

Natural gas distributor VNG has agreed to supply TotalEnergies with green hydrogen for the Leuna oil refinery in Germany.

VNG and Uniper have agreed to supply TotalEnergies with green hydrogen produced by a 30MW electrolyser in German town Bad Lauchstädt. TotalEnergies said the deal would enable it to reduce the site's annual emissions by up to 80,000 tonnes by 2030.
