UK court dismisses East Anglia 1 & 2 challenge

The UK's High Court has dismissed a judicial review of the government's approval of the 1.5GW East Anglia 1 and 2 offshore wind projects in the North Sea.

ScottishPower Renewables won consent for the projects in March 2022. Local group Suffolk Energy Action Solutions said the decision was unlawful, but the court ruled in favour of the developer as it dismissed the challenge on Friday.

The group's complaint particularly related to consultation with landowners for the onshore transmission lines for the developments.
