US unveils $1bn drive to grow hydrogen demand

The US Department of Energy has announced a $1bn fund to support regional hydrogen hubs by growing corporate demand for hydrogen.

The US is making the funds for the H2Hubs programme available through its Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. It wants to support investment in the hydrogen sector by giving producers the confidence that there will be customers available for the fuel, while giving potential hydrogen users more confidence about future supplies.
